From March 20 to May 12, 2024, the exhibition "Open Process" is on display in the exhibition hall of the Kunsthochschule Kassel. documenta Institut professor Liliana Gómez will also be taking part in the accompanying program.
On Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 5.30 pm, she will moderate the event "Panel discussion: listen. document. exhibit. remember."
Together with guests Prof. Dr. Ömer AlkIn, Prof. Dr. Daniel Hornuff and Miriam Schickler, she will address the topic of the aesthetic reappraisal of memory and resistance practices against right-wing activism as well as the connection between post-migration and the NSU trials. The exhibited works will be included in the context of the exhibition series.
With its exhibition, the Kunsthochschule Kassel is dedicating itself to the NSU complex and thus locating living remembrance as a political act. With this exhibition, Kassel is also remembering two people who were murdered by right-wing terrorist violence in the city: Halit Yozgat (2006) and Walter Lübcke (2019).
The "Open Trial" exhibition shows the effects of racist acts of violence. It makes them visible using the example of the NSU complex, the social processing of which has still not been completed.
