The monograph looks at how the increasing global political multipolarity and the upheavals in geopolitics, economic and social policy affect the field of art. After a conceptual and theoretical introduction, Mi You turns to documenta fifteen as a first case study - an exhibition that can be seen as a crystallization point of current political shifts. As a second case study, she looks at Chinese art policy, which is currently oscillating between particularist and universalist claims. In conclusion, Mi You opens up a horizon for thought and experimentation that should help us to find our way in the age of multipolarity.
